COMPACTOR DRIVER/OPERATOR ~ DPW ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE:  10-120 Closes: September 10, 2010
Safely and courteously operate Compactor truck while assisting in the development of the LLBO Solid Waste collection and disposal operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Class A MN Driver’s License preferred. Knowledge of Leech Lake Reservation geography. Some knowledge of hydraulic equipment. Safe driving habits. Basic mechanic skills. Willingness to work beyond regular workdays, if necessary. Oversee the curbside operation and laborer duties. Operate compactor truck and assist helper when necessary. Maintain accurate record of truck maintenance performed. UGST/AIR QUALITY TECHNICIAN ~ DRM ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE:  10-119 Closes: September 10, 2010
The UGST Compliance Assistant Coordinator will assist facilities located within the Leech Lake Reservation’s Exterior Boundaries that have Under Ground Storage Tanks used for storing Petroleum. The Compliance Coordinator will assure that these facilities are compliant with EPA’s UST standards to assure that no leaks occur that would threaten human health or Leech Lake’s environment. The Air Quality Technician will assist the Air Specialist with technical site runs, manage monitoring data, do data analysis and report collected data. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in the: Environmental field or related field. High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). Must complete EPA Basic Inspector training within the first 90 days of employment. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills. Must possess good computer skills and be proficient with Excel and Access. Possess good math skills and open to learning. Will provide technical specific training. FITNESS ASSISTANT ~ HEALTH ~ $13.25/hr ~ JOB CODE:  10-116 Open until filled
The purpose of this position is to function as the Fitness Assistant for the Leech Lake Diabetes Fitness Program. QUALIFICATIONS: AA Degree or High School Diploma or General Education Diploma. Personal Training Certification preferred. Must hold a current CPR Certification and First Aid Certification. Basic knowledge of the relationship of diabetes and exercise. Basic knowledge of signs and symptoms of overexertion, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, heart attack and stroke. Basic knowledge of components of fitness programming, these components include cardiovascular fitness, strength/resistance training and flexibility/range of motion training. Ability to establish helping relationships with clients by setting aside personal needs to help individuals achieve important goals and healthy behaviors through exercise. The Tribal Attorney for Child Welfare has responsibility for providing legal advocacy to the Leech Lake Child Welfare Department, including legal representation for the Band in Tribal Court and State Court. QUALIFICATIONS: Juris Doctorate Degree. License to practice Law in Minnesota, and Leech Lake Tribal Court. Two (2) years of strong relevant Child Protection (CHIPS) experience with emphasis on the Indian Child Welfare Act. Experience working with Native American Indian children and families. Experience working with Tribal and/or District court systems. Experience in Microsoft Office applications and case management software. Knowledge of Leech Lake Child/Family Protection Code.
Knowledge of: Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act, Indian Child Welfare Act and other state and federal legislation that impact Indian children and families. Responsible for planning and implementing activities for youth in the area of sports and recreation, health and fitness, cultural and youth educational programming. Scheduled programs will consist of working evenings and weekends to address youth interest times.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDER ~ HEALTH ~ DOQ ~ JOB CODE: 10-075 Open until filled
Provide behavioral health services through “brief encounters” to patients (women and adolescent girls) who are referred to them by the primary medical provider. Services generally include screening; assessments, diagnosis, and routine management of patients with mental health substances use disorder problems.  QUALIFICATIONS: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, Licensed Psychologists or Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Minimum two (2) years experience in behavioral health, acute care or managed care.  Must have knowledge regarding substance abuse treatment, trauma and generational/historical trauma. Possess a CDA credential (Child Development Associate), Home Visitor Certificate or a Family Service Certificate or be willing to obtain.  CPR/First Aid certified.  Work Hours:  M-Thur., 7:30am – 4:00pm & Fri., 8:00am – 4:30pm.
