The Post Secondary Education Program provides grants to enrolled members of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe who plan to attend a higher education institute in Minnesota or out-of-state. Interested full-time, part-time, graduate study students or short-term training students are also encouraged to apply.

How to apply for financial aid
There are three main steps to your search for financial aid:
- The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will give you an idea of the kinds of financial aid available to you and how much you can anticipate for college expenses. Financial aid offices use the information from your FAFSA to determine your eligibility for grants, loans, and work-study programs. The FAFSA can be completed after January 1st. You should have the following information ready when you apply:
- Social Security number (parents’ Social Security numbers, if parent information is required);
- Your drivers license number, if you have one;
- Federal tax information or tax returns, including W2 information, for yourself, your spouse (if you are married) and for your parents if you are providing parent information.
- Next, apply for the Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program. Online application is recommended and available on the website.
- Finally, fill out the Leech Lake Post Secondary Grant Program Application and mail to:
