| Leech Lake Youth Division Mission Statement |
|---|
We are united for the purpose of encouraging Youth to have a voice in their reservation, community, schools and more. To create opportunity for all youth to be more involved in their own communities so they can see a chance for their future. To help them in their struggles against alcohol, drugs and violence. We are dedicated to making changes in the communities to help youth and their families see that a positive future is possible. -Written by the Youth at the 1999 Youth Conference |
Tobacco Free Communities
A state funded prevention program, Tobacco Free Communities, offers culturally based tobacco prevention education targeting the youth of Leech Lake. We strive to bring our youth back to traditional use of tobacco versus commercial tobacco use.
Youth Activity Project
This program is tribally funded and provides community and culturally specific activities and community wide events for youth ages 8 to 18.
We utilize four components in service delivery; cultural programming, educational programs, recreation & sports and health and fitness. Look for us in your community!
Youth Chemical Dependency Prevention
The YCDPP is funded through the Department of Health and Human Services Chemical Health Division. We provide chemical dependency prevention education and alternative activities for youth on the Leech Lake Reservation.
