Donald "Mick" Finn
Secretary/Treasurer
Born at the Cass Lake hospital in 1946 Mick was raised by his Grandfather Jacob Munnell who was from Old Agency near Onigum MN. He was drafted into the Army at the age of 18 and again at the age of 20 serving at Gulf Port Mississippi and then transferring to Camp Pendelton’s Construction Batallion. After being discharged Mick moved to Los Angeles where he spent eleven years.
After leaving California Mick moved back home to Minnesota to open his own small business, which turned out to be a trucking company. He delivered goods all over the Continental United States until being elected to the Leech Lake Tribal Council in 2004. Mick served four years on the Council until 2008 after an unsuccessful bid at reelection. However, he was elected as Secretary Treasurer in June and September of 2011 in an unprecedented double election cycle victory.
Mick enjoys serving the people of the Reservation and is eager to help improve the complex organization that the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe has become.
