Applications are accepted at the Housing Authority office or by mail, email or fax. Upon receiving a complete application the application will be placed on a waiting list for an applicants choice of area. Applicants receive notice of their eligibility.
Eligibility Requirements
- A complete application
- A household member is a Leech Lake Band member or a federally recognized tribe
- Applicant is 18 years of age or older
- Applicant has income that is less than 80% of the Federal Median Income
- Applicant has had no felonies in the last ten years
- Applicant is able to have utilities
- Applicant has no outstanding debt owed to Leech Lake Housing

Unit Selection
- Unit selection is made on a point system
- Interested applicants are required to update every 6 months to receive 10 additional points to their application
- The average waiting time for an available unit is 6 months to 18 months, occasionally 24-36 months depending on the area of choice
- Applicants with the highest points at the time a unit is available in their area of choice will be offered the unit
