Mutual Help
Families may obtain ownership of their home by making low monthly payments, maintaining the unit in standard condition, and participating in training programs specified for home ownership participants for up to a twenty-five year period. We currently have 109 units throughout the reservation.
Home Ownership Program
We are in the process of developing a Home Ownership Program for Band Members to assist with obtaining a home through conventional financing. A limited number of homes will be available for purchase from the rental programs. We are in the midst of developing a homeownership program that will prepare participants for conventional financing.
Our supportive services include a housing services advocacy program that coordinates outreach to renters/homeowners for policy compliance, homeownership education, referral services and community wellness activities.

The Leech Lake Housing Authority menages Leech Lake Homeless Shelter for families that are without sleeping accommodations and have no other resources. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has sleeping accommodations for 3 families at a time. Clients may stay up to 30 days.
