The Economic Development Department exists to improve the economic well being of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe; and to move the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe toward self-sufficiency through the development of new initiatives and the operation of existing programs and businesses. The department will accomplish this by implementing programs and strategies in the areas of economic development, small business development, tourism, culture, arts and community development.
The department's goals are to create profit making businesses that creat jobs, stimulate economic growth, develop viable opportunitites that bring tribal members into the economic mainstream and develop local area as mojor destination point for quality goods and services.
Eligibility Requirements
Economic Development provides resources for the Leech Lake Population and assists tribal government in developing plans to expand economic development infrastructure.
