Eligibility Requirements

Households have a residency requirement of at least 30 days in our service area.

Household resources will be considered. These include cash, money in banks and stocks and bonds that are readily negotiable. Monthly income also determines if you qualify. Each October the income guidelines have increased. Deductions on monthly income include court ordered child support payments and Medicare insurance premiums you pay and dependent care expenses.

Documents Requested

Proof of income, resources, residence and deductions on monthly income, these need to be provided to the intake worker.

Intake Procedure

Assistance in completing the application for food can be requested from the intake workers. Food delivery is available to elderly and handicapped persons in the nearby area.

Intake workers do a personal interview, to determine eligibility. Food is issued if you are qualified. Most households are notified immediately. However ten days are allowed for notification in writing of denial.

Applicants are notified immediately and are sent a written notice of denial, and the reason for the denial.

If a household disagrees with the intake workers decision, that person can appeal to the Program Director. If that cannot be resolved, then a Hearing will be set up.

Fees - None

You must reapply and reverify each October.
