Anishinabekew Healing Circle Initiative, integrates behavioral helath with primary health care for women and adolescent girls who have experienced or are experiencing trauma, alcohol/drug abuse and/or violence in their lives. The program will provide assessments, evaluations education, therapy and case managment.

Native Aspirations
Native Aspirations is part of the Anishinaabeg Minosewag program within the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Health Division. The federal SAMSHA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) funded program was created to help communities build capacity to prevent the violence, bullying, and suicide that hurts young people.
This program focuses on youth ages 12-24.
Three main Objectives of Native Aspirations:
- To provide proactive mental helath assistance to children, youth, and their families living on tribal reservations, urban areas, and in Alaskan Native villages;
- To decrease the risk factors that contribute to youth violence, bullying, and suicide; &
- To increase the protective factors that are linked to the healthy and safe development of AI/AN children and their families.
Native Aspirations provides access to a number of activities for American Indian tribes. Some of those activities are:
- Technical assistance and training on the use of evidence-based interventions and culture-based interventions that prevent youth bullying and violence and programs that promote healthy communitites
- Grief and loss issues
- Relationships
- Stress, anxiety, and depression
- Historical and generational trauma
- Living with chronic diseases
- Domestic violence
- Communication skills
- Support for lifestyle changes
