Ahnji Be Mah Diz (Ojibwe language meaning“ change your way of life”) is a halfway house located on the Leech Lake Reservation, owned and operated by the LLBO. The facility provides a sheltered live-in situation for chemically dependent men who want to live a life free of alcohol or any other mood altering chemical.
Our program objectives are to guide, support, and encourage alcoholic/chemically dependent men, coming from a primary treatment or hospital setting. The main focus is to help them find a comfortable balance physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, so that they can return to the community as a productive person. Objectives are usually accomplished by a client in a period of up to 90 days. The 6 bed facility admits men 18 years and over. Staff is on duty 24 hours a day.
In addition we also provide a sweat lodge that is open to the community, every Tuesday, which starts tentatively at 4:30. Also we have AA meetings on Tuesdays @ 7:00 p.m., Wednesdays @ 11:00 a.m., and Thursdays @ 7:00 p.m.
