It is the mission of the Leech Lake Opioid Treatment Program to provide medication assisted treatment services that promote chemically-free lifestyles for the clients, their families, and the community by a variety of approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, and a client-centered approach to support our Anishinabe values and lifestyles.
Opioid Addiction Therapy with Buprenorphine
Ideal candidates for opioid addiction treatment with buprenorphine are individuals who have been objectively diagnosed with opioid addiction, are willing to follow safety precautions for treatment, can be expected to comply with the treatment, have no contraindications to buprenorphine therapy, and who agree to buprenorphine treatment after a review of treatment options. There are three phases of buprenorphine maintenance therapy: Induction, Stabilization, and Maintenance.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have an addiction to an opiate, and be willing to seek help
- Enrolled member of a Federally Recognized Tribe
Documents Requested
- Insurance: Medical Assistance or other insurance, If carries CCS the individual will be a self-pay client
- ncome verification (Pay stub, MFIP, or other income)
- Number of Family Size (how many individuals the client is responsible for)
- Residence (Utility bill to verify residency)
Intake Procedure
- Follow the recomendation of Rule 25 Assessor - go to your local county office.
- Treatment Team Meeting
- A History & Physical (H&P) will be scheduled with our physician
- Induction date will then be scheduled by the medical staff
- Meet with License Alcohol Drug Counselor for Treatment Plan and Individual Sessions.
- Meet with Case Management for Client Orientation
- On going recovery
Requirement for Treatment
Our clients MUST follow all requirements to remain on our program:
- Daily dosing of Buprenorphine
- NA meeting twice a week
- Meet with their Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor, Case Management weekly
- Remain illicit substance free
