National Invasive Species Awareness Week

National Invasive Species Awareness Week (NISAW) is February 21-27, 2016.  This national event highlights pathways, threats, and management practices associated with invasive terrestrial & aquatic flora, fauna, and pathogens. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness of current and future invasive species issues, plus identify effective solutions for management of invasive species at the tribal, local, regional, state, and national scales.

As we approach NISAW, now is a good time to reflect on the negative effects invasive species have caused to the forests and waters of Leech Lake Reservation.  Education & Outreach tools, schedules of events, and webinars can be found at www.nisaw.org
