Non-Band Members - Residents:

Before a permit is issued to non-band members, they must have one or more of the following:
• Have a tribal identification card w/enrollment number.
• MN Driver’s License with current address.
• Must be a resident of the Leech Lake Reservation for ninety (90) days.

LLR Site tags are are required for the following furbearers:
Bobcat, Fisher, Pine Marten, River Otter
Trappers must pick site tags up at the Leech Lake DRM office located in Cass Lake. They are also required to return to the DRM Office and pick up state export tags.

The Leech Lake Reservation Conservation Department issues state export tags for Bobcat, Fish, Pine Marten and River Otter at the Leech Lake DRM office in Cass Lake.

Deer, Individual: $2.00
Small Game (including Waterfowl), Individual: $2.00
Trapping, Individual: $2.00

Combination of all 3 activities listed above: $5.00

White Tailed Deer, Bucks or Does

September 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017

One (1) Deer Tag - Leech Lake Enrolled Band Members
One (1) Deer Tag - Resident Non-Band Members

Special Notes:

Youth under the age of 16 need a gun safety permit for big game hunting.

The Additional Deer Tags are considered special permits and will be issued through
the DRM office in Cass Lake and the LLR licensing agents.

Black Bear

September 1, 2017 to October 31, 2017

One (1) per permittee

Bear, Individual $2.00. Available at DRM office and LLR License Agents.

Starting July 1, 2016 the fee for Bear for non-band members that reside on the Leech Lake Reservation will increase to $15.

Small Game Season Dates & Seasonal Limits

Rabbits and Squirrels

Continuous season - No limit

Ruffed Grouse, Woodcock, Common Snipe, and Sora Rail

September 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017

Daily Bag Limit: Six (6)
Possession Limit: Twelve (12)

Trapping Season Dates & Seasonal Limits

Beaver - October 7, 2017 to May 13, 2018, No limit

Coyote - Continuous season, No limit

Fox - October 7, 2017 to February 28, 2018, No limit

Mink/Muskrat - October 7, 2017 to February 28, 2018, No limit

Raccoon - October 7, 2017 to February 28, 2018, No limit

The furbearers listed below require LLR trappers to obtain state export tags from the DRM office in Cass Lake. There will be a three (3) day grace period for tagging furs after the end of the season date listed.

Bobcat - November 11, 2017 to January 31, 2018, Limit: Five (5)

Fisher - November 11, 2017 to January 31, 2018, Limit: Three (3)

Pine Marten - November 4, 2017 to January 31, 2018, Limit: One (1)

River Otter - October 7, 2017 to April 30, 2018, Limit: Five (5)
