Summary: The Associate Tribal Attorney has primary responsibility for providing legal advocacy to the Leech Lake Child Welfare Department, including legal representation for the Band in Tribal Court and State Court, review of contracts, and negotiations with the State of Minnesota, Department of Human Services, and County Governments. Work is performed under the supervision of the Legal Director.
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree. Must have a good Law background and understanding of how Public Law 280 relates to tribal jurisdiction and rights and be able to identify opportunities to expand/recover treaty/jurisdictional right for the Band. Summary: Responsible for assisting the DRM Botanist or Crew Leader with a multitude of projects throughout the field season. Many of these projects deal with the control of invasive species found within the Leech Lake Reservation and Chippewa National Forest.

Summary: This position is responsible for the overall planning, coordination and effective management of the Tribal Assistance Program with the goal of providing quality services to the eligible client population according to program policies and guidelines.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services preferred. A minimum of five years experience in administering Human Services program required. Experience which involves customer contact/interaction as a regular part of the job or a minimum of five experience at a level equivalent to Family Independence Case Management is required. Summary: The Shelter Advocate serves as facilitator for individuals and families of the LLHS, performing all day-to-day intakes, assessment and operations such as helping people achieve self-sufficiency including setting goals and accessing resources and referrals for employment, childcare and housing opportunities.
Qualifications: Associates Degree from an accredited college in Human Services field preferred, or equivalent leadership experience directly related to supervisory tasks in group/residential settings. Summary: Work with the Reservation communities and Native American people to identify caregivers, as well as, establish a network to support those in caregiver roles.

Skills: Perform outreach in reservation communities by identifying family caregivers of older adults, grandparents and relative caregivers of children more than 18 years of age, including grandparents who are sole caregivers of grandchildren and those individuals who are affected by mental retardation or who have developmental disabilities.

Domestic Abuse Re-Education (DAR) Program Coordinator ~ Human Services ~ DOQ ~ Job Code: 14-208
               VALID CLASS D DRIVER’S LICENSE, SIGNED MVR FORM AND BCA REQUIRED
Summary: Responsible for the overall management and administration of the Leech Lake Domestic Abuse Re-Education (DAR) Program, with the goal to address and reduce domestic violence and ensure the safety of domestic violence victims on the Leech Lake Reservation. Provides facilitation of Men’s DAR classes, supervision of DAR class facilitators, and service coordination with tribal, state, county and federal agencies involved in domestic violence programming.
Qualifications: BA/BS in Behavioral Health or related field (Psychology, Chemical Dependency, etc.) with 2000 hours of supervised experience. Masters Degree in the Behavioral Health field, preferred. Certified Domestic Batterer Intervention Program facilitator.
Skills: Demonstrated experience working with domestic abuse offenders. Familiarity with domestic violence programs and issues. Familiarity with the Coordinated Community Response model of domestic violence intervention.

3 Special Needs Teacher Assistants ~ Early Childhood ~ DOQ ~ Job Code:  15-006
