Twin Cities Office

A division of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, working with the Tribe and available community resources/services to assist Urban Band members in the 7 county metro area: Anoka County, Carver County, Dakota County, Hennepin County, Ramsey County, Scott County.

The Twin Cities Office works with and utilizing all available community agencies within the seven county metro areas. The office also has created a variety of resource books for numerous items from housing, training, employment, diapers to local food shelves and discounted community grocery suppliers. This is an on-going process for staff researching the various members needs.

Twin Cities Resource Advocate

The Twin Cities Resource Advocate is available to assist families, single adults and youth (54 and under) with a variety of resources, including:

  • Once a month activities are held for families and youth
  • Homework help Monday and Wednesday 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. during the school year. 
Tribal Assistance
Applications available, completed applications will be forwarded to Tribal Referral staff located in Cass Lake for approval/denial.

Assist with funeral expenses for Leech Lake Band members ONLY.
Requires: proof of enrollment and income.

Emergency Medical:
Must be life threatening medical emergency for Leech Lake Band Members ONLY.

When possible, apply 3-4 days before scheduled appointment to receive services.
Requires: proof of enrollment, income and medical appointment verification.

Extraordinary Direct Assistance
Extraordinary Direct Assistance “Intake Application”: Available for Leech Lake Member to submit an application for assistance to the Tribal Council or their District Representative for review and approval/denial.

Other Available Programs: Members 55+ will be assisted with finding available community resources. Requires: proof of enrollment and income verification.
Elders Program
Must be an enrolled Leech Lake Member 62 + and/or disabled with proof of disability. Assistance determined on a case by case basis regarding areas of health, welfare and wellbeing.
Twin Cities Elder Advocates
Twin Cities Elder Advocates are available to assist elder band members with a variety of issues/challenges concerning health, welfare and wellbeing and transportation for medical, food shelf, misc. events and other personal items pending availability of van and staff.
